Hey guys,
So I wasn’t sure if this is the correct place for it, but I’m unsure of where to post Linux specific issues.
Now up front, I will say we are currently working off of version 4.7.1 of the engine, so it is a bit dated concerning Linux, however we cannot upgrade the engine to 4.8 at the moment as we are in the process of going through Cert on XBone and PS4.
So we won’t be updating until they go through.
I mainly would like to know if the following has been fixed, or is in the process of being fixed for the Linux platform:
- Using cloth crashes the game.
I’ve attached a log with the stack I receive when the game attempt to load in the cloth on our characters.
Once Cloth is disabled, the game loads and runs correctly.
- Slate doesn’t hold/release the mouse correctly.
I have instances where I will need to alt-tab away from the game to navigate our menus with the mouse cursor again.
- Looping Music tracks get cut off partway through playing, and start playing from the beginning of the track.
Our menu has a looping ~1:30 length track. However on Linux it plays ~10-15 seconds and then does a hard cut, and proceeds to play the same section again.
- Startup movie doesn’t play
I’m not sure if the startup movie has been implemented on Linux, but the Movie we are using for PC does not work on Linux.
- Controller bindings don’t seem to work out of the box
I’ve installed Ubuntu xboxdrv, but the bindings we’ve set for windows/console don’t seem to work.
Is there further setup needed specifically for Linux i’m unaware of?
I’m currently building and running on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
Let me know if you need any more info.
Cheers guys.
EDIT: Is there a specific changelist someone can point me at where I can go through Linux specific changes? It would help a lot.
