Multiple Floor Asset Height Specs?

I made a bunch of custom floor meshes, only to realize they are compatible with a subset of existing content.

The architectural guidelines document specifies that the standard is 24cm (+12cm / -12cm), but there appear to be a number of floor assets which are 16cm.

These floor pieces aren’t quite visually compatible when seamless integration is desired, creates implementation path branching, and diverging standards.

I suppose the blueprint could internally compensate one way or the other with a scale of roughly 1.5 or 0.666. But is 24cm indeed the preferred default?

Any information about the varying flooring standards? Why and where one would be used over the other? Is this simply a result of legacy and new asset standards?

Hi Brad,

I ‘meditated’ on this a while back and came to the conclusion that floor/ceilings are now more about ratios than power of 2 grids.

It seems like 16 is just the legacy size. Newer asset packs (Rumble Ruins, Eclipse Estate use the official standard)

ah, thanks for that link, I didn’t find similar conversation in my search before I posted this. I suspected that was case (plus the recent nanite displacement improvements have likely informed specs).
