Multiplayer TopDown Kit

Anyone know where in the blueprints the mouse capture occurs? I’ve been recreating the networking methods he used for a new project, and everything is working; but no matter where I click, my characters immediately and only move to 0,0,0 on the map. Need to fix this. Thanks

Disregard. I found how to make presets for collisions in the project settings of the project and created a “floor preset”. Changed my floor to the proper collision settings and it works perfect now!

I am considering the purchase of this kit, but I largely want it for the multi-client-2-server connectivity via IP. I read here that you can connect via the “open” console command, which is fine, but I have not seen in this forum or comments that anyone has indicated that it works for them. Can anyone confirm that they’ve successfully used this kit to connect multiple clients to a (dedicated) server via IP? Thanks in advance.

The asset works correctly on multiplayer, including connecting via. ‘open IP:PORT’. Personally I’ve connected like that up to 25 players with no issue

So many problems and errors merging the ARPGIS with MPTopDownKit, this asset is in need of new tutorial videos. Would help with a lot of the problems users are experiencing with this package.

FYI for potential new users … In a previous post in this forum they indicated to another user that if you email their support with proof of purchase of both packages that they could send a merged package. I sent them an email over a month ago and I have not received any response. So I too would like to know what is going on???

I have no clue, I havent been able to get a response since October of 2017.

There is a merge tutorial on the Vanguard YouTube channel.

I’ve tried that video again and I continue to have problems starting at 23:30. In UI > Blueprint > InventoryLayout, Inventory_Slot , and maybe Contain_Slot? the video shows the “Get Inventory Manager Component” connecting into something with a “SET” title and a connector named “Inventory Management Reference”. However, it the current version of Inventory System, that “SET” box does not exist. I tried (non-)contextual objects off of the “Get” box, but none have a “Inventory Management Reference” connector. What object do other people, that have this working, have after the “Cast to MPTopDownNetworkController” and “Get Inventory Manager Component” in those BPs?

As a side test, if I used a “Set PlayerInventory” just to hook somthing in I can’t do anything with the inventories and I get this error:
Blueprint Runtime Error: “Accessed None trying to read property PlayerInventory”. Blueprint: InventoryManagerComponent Function: Refresh Inventory Slots Graph: RefreshInventorySlots Node: Get Inventory Items

I’ve already wasted most of my day off on this issue because of the outdated video / packages and no response from the creators, so any help is appreciated.

How to change the color of pulse emitter? Changing any value in ClickPulseBP or Emitter P_Click_Pulse or even in material doesn’t seems to make any changes. I can only change the color to Pink in Emitter P_Click_Pulse > Color Over Life param. But any other colors returns just green. Any suggestion?

Asking again since the creator seems to have abandon this code … for anyone that has this working, what is plugged next into the “Inventory Manager Component” in the Inventory Layout or Container_Slot BPs? The videos show a SET to something with an Inventory Manager Reference, but there nothing there in the current versions of the original code, nor is there any context sensitive pin that seems to work.

I try desperately to combine the MTP with the ARPG inv but the tutorial of youtube (3 years) does not match anymore with the version of now.

Is it possible to have an update of the tutorial or an already functional pack?

There are no updates to the documentation or code. If you are looking to combine the two kits, try looking in the recent posts in the Action-RPG-Inventory-System forums or request for a refund.

Well of now in 4.24 when you try to merge with Inventory system it crash the editor in the first move to merge them by copying the component forlder.

All the assets look unfollowed by the creator. I suggest look for something else if anyone not very good in Unreal.

My question is. I am doing more of a futuristic setting, where characters are using flashlights instead of radial light. Will it work for Flashlight cones?

Your kit isn’t working. It is just a Black Screen. There is also a compiling error with the Player Name. No variable exist. I created a Variable and it still did not work. I went to main menu and it just sends me to a Black Screen with no activity. Not sure what is going on. Also the fact that this thread has be dead for over a year means that I may not get support. Well here is for trying anyway.
