Multi-Platform audio and PS5 issues

Hi

We have a multi-platform (PC, Xbox S and X and PS5) release on UE4.26 and have run into a significant issue with audio on the PS5

Whilst everything works as intended on PC and Xbox for some reason some, but only some, of the audio on the PS5 is playing at imperceptibly low levels. Everything else works as it should

We’ve ruled out bit rate, sample rate, file type and size etc and resolving the issue is proving very challenging indeed

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar, or have any suggestions as to how we fix what is seemingly not broken. Is there something related to PlayStation specifically that we have somehow missed?

Hello, sorry you haven’t gotten an answer here.

Your games audio may be a red herring here. PS5 has stricter dynamic compression settings, and some settings on the system side may be affecting how you hear your game overall.

I would check Control Center > Sound > Audio Focus and perhaps some other settings, and see if you find that anything is changing the overall sound output, especially if it is not just one or a few sounds in your game being attenuated, but everything.
