I am in the process of creating an elevator that will need to go to multiple floors. I can get the triggers to respond and the matinee for the lift to play when the character steps on the trigger. However, with this being a multi-floor building, I will need to be able to have it go to specific floors. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to create a keypad for the user to choose a floor. In UDK, there was a simple way to do this with triggers and a key press, however it does not seem to be working in UE4. I have tried to use the Onclicked node as well as key press inputs. I have also went through the lift tutorial on the Unreal wiki. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Just use a ray cast to click which button and have it move to that location. I wouldn’t bother with matinee personally. I would just set the world locations that you want it to be at for each level and then move it at a set speed with a lerp until it reaches that location.
