Multi-BAFTA winning animation studio in London seeks a mid-level UE4 tech artist/dev


UE4 Technical Artists/Devs: Join us to make beautifully exciting entertainment projects! We are looking for a highly creative individual (both visually and logically) to join our friendly team in London, to help with UE4/Maya integration, look-development / R&D for cartoony styles of beautiful rendered & interactive animation. The role will combine technical coding skills with explorative visual shader development.

There will be a range of fun & highly collaborative projects to work on, from test pitches and explorative projects to interactive/VR projects exploring new ways of creating high-quality entertaining content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate alongside Animation/Art and Creative Directors to implement team vision
  • Help with development / look-dev for lighting/rendering in UE4
  • Assist with building a solid team-based workflow & pipeline for moving between Maya & UE4
  • Create and optimise materials and shaders for optimised frame rates
  • Development, research & exploration of post-processing functionality
  • Implementing interactive functionality for existing assets via a range of inputs

Required Skills:

  • Experienced UE4 technical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of the UE4 lighting systems
  • Deep understanding of UE4 rendering pipeline for optimising frame rate
  • Good knowledge of UE4 post-processing functionality
  • Excellent knowledge of Blueprint programming
  • Experience with Maya to UE4 workflow
  • Strong eye for artistic detail & beautiful cinematography/photographic composition
  • Obsessively keen interest in VR & real-time systems

Pay: Depends on experience
