Moving a playable character along a spline in 2.5D game mode on UE 5.3

Hi, I have a doubt, I tried to search for solutions all over the internet for this but couldn’t find anything properly for it yet, can anyone clear my doubt?
I’m creating a 2.5D game, my playable character usually moves on the X axis but at certain places, I need to move on the Y axis as well, I thought I could use splines since there are many games that use the same method to move the character on 3D for a short portion (games like My friend Pedro, Assassin’s creed chronicles and Trine 3).
I created a 2.5D game mode using third-person game mode on UE5 (followed a YT video to create it, I’ll post a link below for reference) and created a prototype level, at some places, my character needed to move on the Y axis, so I searched for “how to make the playable character move along spline” but many people posted videos like “an object/actor move along the spline”, but finally found one guy posted the exact thing I’m looking for but he did that on UE 4 (4.27 I guess), I tried that on UE 5.3 but my character is just walking straight without getting affected by the spline, I tried to create it on UE 4 and it worked fine. So there is something wrong with the player controller since it’s created manually and the recent update changed the controller settings as an enhanced input. If anyone knows how to make this work on UE 5.3 that would be really helpful. I’ve attached the link to both videos below for reference, I used these 2 videos to create 2.5D game mode and a playable character to move along the spline.
