[Movie Rendering] Slow/Crash Problem UE5

Hello,

I am very sad because since today, I cannot render my cinematic properly.
I have a shot that I already rendered before (few days ago) without any problem. I made some tiny adjustements and now I am rendering it again. I rendered half of it and then stopped the rendering because I had to. Now I want to render the other half, but I cannot do it.
The movie rendering process has become very very slow. maybe 3 times slower than before. I tried restarting the process, enabling virtual texture, and now it is even worse. The GPU crashes without rendering any frame because it either says crash or lack of resources.

I have a brand new computer with RTX 3080Ti with 16Go dedicated VRAM.

And the most crazy thing about it is that 2 days ago I rendered perfectly the first half of my shot, so I literally didnt change a thing since.

I would deeply, deeply appreciate the help you could give because I am powerless about this, don’t know what to do.

Thanks fam

Hi - I don’t think there is a solution for this at the moment. I’m having the same issues with UE5.03 (and render time sucks for volumetric clouds) - so I’m going back to 4.27 for now - everything renders instantly and it’s stable.
Hopefully this will be fixed in 5.1 - MRQ is absolutely necessary to create reproducible animations.

I had to downgrade my texture qualities so that it would be light enough to render without crashing. It’s sad that it was working and without a change it stopped working but anyway!
You can watch the result here: My First Unreal Engine 5 Project: What can you achieve when you know nothing? - YouTube
And you’ll see the downgrade in asset quality on the second half of the video!
