Movie Render Queue - Final Cut XML export

Hello everyone,
I’ve been trying hard to get this to work but no luck so far.
Working on UE 4.27, I’ve got a sequence that I am rendering with the Movie Render Queue and I’d like to get and XML export as well so I can rebuild the edit in Da Vinci Resolve.
I’m exporting the shots as .mov files in Apple pro res corec with the tag {shot_name} like this

The export seems to work (adding the setting Final Cut Pro XML like this :

At the end of the export, I’ve got a nice folder with all my separate shots rendered properly with the correct name, and a XML named like this :

When I import this XML in Resolve (or Premiere, I tried with both) it imports all the separate shots but can’t recreate the sequence and just create an empty sequence.

Is there anything fishy going on here ? Did I miss something crucial ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks !

Hi,

Any luck with this? I came across your post facing a similar sounding importing into Resolve issue.
For me the main two issues were:
– Unreal’s xml seems to default to writing the file name with avid .mxf extension!?
– Resolve was importing the clips with a starting time code of 1 hour (01.00.00.00) even though my Sequencer timeline started at 0 and the xml’s recorded time code was 0 as well!?

To get the xml import to work for me I did the following:

In my movie render que I have:
–Final cut Pro XML Data Source to Sequence Data.
–Using Avid Dnx output format

Then in Resolve, I imported the xml through Import → Timeline (leaving all the defaults)

That resulted in the correct cut but with Media Offline.

Then through Media Workspace I added the UE rendered dnx movies using the Add to Media Pool with Offset… Command Offset of Source Timecode: -86400 (ie 1 hour)

With the above Resolve correctly linked up the missing media and I had an imported edit that matched the ue master sequence.

Your mileage may vary, I am a completed Resolve beginner, so there may be better ways to go about this  Love to hear them if there are.

I am using Premier Pro.
The XML files I imported are not coming to Premier Pro correctly.
all cameras start at 00:00.
How can I import times correctly?

XML file does not output with camera cuts.
I need to add shots.
How can I get xml file with camera cuts?
