Movement Modulator Device - Class Setting Ignored

Summary

The Movement Modulator Device applies an impulse regardless of the player’s class setting. Even when the device is configured to activate only for Class Slot 2, the impulse is still applied when the player is in Class Slot 1.

Steps to Reproduce

Place a Movement Modulator Device in the scene.

Set the following properties:

  • Apply Impulse = True
  • Forward Impulse = 5000
  • Activating Class: Class Slot = 2

Test:

  • Assign a player to Class Slot 1.
  • Trigger the Movement Modulator by walking over it.

Expected Result

The impulse should only be applied if the player is in Class Slot 2.

Observed Result

The impulse is applied even when the player is in Class Slot 1.

I was just observing this effect.

I set up multiple movement modulators, each set to a different class and different speeds.

All movement modulators are activated regardless of the player’s class.

@Flak The other post was referring to a different issue.

It looks like there are a few issues here:

  • Class setting is ignored
  • Team setting appears to block all usage (at least in my test of 1P in a Live Edit session)
  • Remote usage of Activate only applies to the player but not their vehicle
  • Vehicles are only effected by direct collision (driving over the pad)

I tested remote usage via Volumes, Mutator Zones, Triggers, and Verse.
