I’ll post my plans about updating the packs in a very short time.

Updates for all packs are coming right now. They will all be submitted this week, along with a new pack called “Sword Animset Pro” (1 handed sword, no shield, 180 anims).

Yes, all of the packs should be updated till next Saturday, and if I still have some time, I’ll start selling the new 1 handed Sword Animset Pro.

When the packs are uploaded, an e-mail will be sent to all who purchased on my www. If for any reason you miss the e-mail, just write to kuboldgames@gmail.com.

The reason is very simple. If you are a small indie developer you need access to as many animations as possible which fit your game, and as someone who uses UE4 you will most likely find these in the UE4 marketplace. If you don’t update the skeleton you use in your game, you will no longer be able to buy new animations on the marketplace. If you have not bought animation packs before the new skeleton was introduced you can also not access the old versions any more because all sellers have updated their animations to the new skeleton. So you are pretty much forced to update your skeleton :smiley: And I think it’s really good that Epic has changed the skeleton to a new more realistic one.

Yeah, you are right, I should rephrase that info. I put the info in the FAQ, because I got some e-mails like “omg! I have to make my game all over again?? I was almost finished!.. noooo!” :slight_smile: Not everyone knew, that it’s just a new template for Marketplace sellers, and not some new, mandatory core engine feature. So, if your game already works and you have all anims you need - you don’t have to change anything.

I also agree that the new skeleton is waaaaay better as a generic template for different models and animations. My animations also look better on the new skeleton.

The whole process of retargeting all my animations (it’s more than 800 anims at this point) took so long, because I didn’t just retarget them from “Blue Mannequin” to the new “Robot Mannequin”. I actually retargeted the animations from original mocap files, to achieve best quality, so I had to make many of them practically all over again.

not a solution… but maybe consolation, Macro Recorder, Macro Program, Keyboard Macros & Mouse Macros
I used it to retarget a bunch back when I was learning…recorded the process manually once and replayed X2 it whenever I needed to retarget a whole skeleton or ten lol

Good news everyone! We are all going to d… no, not that. Wait, what was it… oh. All the sets are updated to 4.8 (or at least submitted). Also the Pistol Animset Pro got over 20 new animations. Nothing fancy, just slowly making everything consistent.

root motion retargeting problem.

Is there another solution? use UE4?

A lot of solutions, the easiest are:

Epic’s Maya Animation Rigging Toolset
Built-in Maya retargeting
Motionbuilder retargeting

I recommend Motionbuilder, since it can retarget everything in a batch. But try UE4 retargeting first, sometimes it works ok.

Just bought this on sale - the marketplace version seems not to be the updated one. Am I missing something?

…you’re right, thanks for the info. I have no idea why Epic uploaded the oldest version instead of the newest one. Epic guys, can you please upload the newest version? (I also sent an e-mails to support and sent a private forum msg to )

Also, why are my packages listed as not compatible with 4.9? When I copy the content of any of my packages to 4.9 it just works normally, so what’s the problem there? (so guys, to open my packages in 4.9, you need to just manually copy the content to your 4.9 project folder. It IS compatible).

Same , I just got the pack and I don’t seem to have the animations with the new 4.8 skeleton.

I have been eyeing this pack for a while now. As soon as it got on sale I jumped on that opportunity ! Thanks Kubold ! Haha.

I contacted (the Marketplace curator) and from what he said, it looks like it’s some kind of mistake. Epic should fix it and you’ll have the latest update with the white robot skeleton and 180 mocaps.
