Hi there,
As you can see here, when importing a MOV video file at the resolution 3840x2160 I get this error message.
Is there a solution for this? I know .mov should be supported by default according to the documentation. Thank you

Hello @Anthony_Attwood
This error looks like missing codecs: "No suitable transform was found to encode or decode the content." - #3 by EliteCadDesigns
Isn’t MOV supported by default? Your documentation says that it is and without requirement for codec installation on my part as it comes with the software.
If not, can you link me to the codec required please?
RealityCapture uses Window’s codecs to open images or videos, so they need to be install on your machine.
The whole tutorial is there: Image and video codecs and import formats | Knowledge base
There’s no video tutorial on that page from what I can find.
Secondly, I installed the full codec pack from k-lite and MOV still isn’t being supported by Reality Capture.
It is not a video tutorial, only the written one.
Are you able to play that video in some other application on that PC? Is it possible to use other format of that video?
Can you also try these codecs?
Hi, I’m using a workaround but yes I can view the video in VLC media player just fine. It’s only a .MOV so I don’t know why I would need those HEVC codecs, but I have installed a the full codec pack from k-lite which says it includes the .MOV codec.
My workaround is using a third party app to extract frames from the video files. That works just fine but I’m wondering why non of the .MOV videos are working with your software.
I tested to import some MOV video and it worked on my side.
Is this happening for all your MOV videos?
Is it possible to share that video with us?
Hi, yes it seems that it doesn’t matter which video.
I’ll send you a video to try just let me know where to send it
Hi Anthony,
I’ve sent you the invitation to the folder for your data upload.
Hi, I keep trying to log in using my epic credentials but it’s not recognising them
It is quite strange. It should work using the account’s detail to which I sent you the invitation.
Can you try this link?
In the invitation mail, have you clicked on Go to Folder link?
Also for the link I attached in the previous message?
Oh sorry yes it happens with both
What do you see after clicking on that link? Is there a question if you are a part of Epic?
Hi sorry for the delay. Yea it asks if I’m part of epic or want to use the Box account
Hi, which option have you used?
I suppose the Epic option is for employees only.
Ohh right so I need to make an account then. Ok, just bare with me
Hello Anthony, thank you for the video.
I’ve checked it on two different machines and for both cases I was able to import the data and frames were created.
So I suppose this will be related to your specific machine.
