I’m using Unreal 5.4.4, and I’ve also tested this in Unreal 5.5.0 preview.
I’m doing Jesse Pitela’s Niagara Real-Time Motion.
Everything has been going perfectly fine until I reached the Audio Reactive cloner lessons.
I’ve also checked this against youtubers that do Unreal tutorials (Winbush and a few others).
I’m doing the steps correctly to add a LInked Effector:
On the effector, I’ve changed easing to “In elastic”, and set Scale Z to 5:
I’ve right clicked on the Scale row, and added soundwave to Scale Z
And the effector is influencing the cloner:
In the Animators Operator Stack I’ve added the sound effect to the Sampled Sound Wave slot (like all the tutorials). I’ve set Time Source Name to Sequence, and Sequence name to AvaSequence_0.
And I’ve added my sound to the sequencer, whether I click play or not, the cloner just maintains it’s default shape from the initial effector values. It never reacts to the music:
It never changes from the shape you see in viewport:
Has anyone encountered this? Is it a bug in 5.5 and 5.4.4? I know Jessie was using 5.4.3 in his tutorials, and I haven’t checked what youtubers are using.
I can’t seem to find anything online about other people have the same issue so I figured I’d post here and see if anyone knows the solution.
Thank you,
John
