I don’t know a lot about performance-costs in UE5 and I don’t know where else to ask for help (besides reddit).
I’m trying to make very simple particle effects for a game, similar to some magic/attack effects in the PS1 era, but when I try to use the Niagara particle system, I find it comes with a lot of extra stuff that seems unimportant (I’ll disable certain checkboxes and find the render preview turns out the same (is that an effective learning method?))
So I ask, what are the most expensive modules in Niagara? (so i can avoid using them)
(i just figured for a low-poly PS1 styled game, I wouldn’t need some of the more complex things in Unreal, but i still want to learn it and use it just so I have options)
Even pointing me to a beginner’s Niagara guide would be helpful,
Thank you for your time
