More than one foliage

Good afternoon,

After this I have been looking for some time but unfortunately I cannot find it until now. I am a beginner but starting to understand Unreal better and better. Now my question is I see in the foliage mode that you can make foliage, echer this is then one foliage. I cannot find how to make multiple foliage. So that I can make one invisible and turn on the other.

Hopefully someone understands what I mean and can help me. Thanks a lot in advance!

If you want them to be separate, then you can use PCG

Thank you for your quick response.

I watched the YouTube video, however, this is not what I am looking for at all.

The none I am looking for is that I can create multiple foliages through a paint.

It’s exactly what you’re looking for

Instead of just choosing your mesh and painting, yes, you need to setup a few nodes. But after that, it’s plain sailing.

You can place foliage, and each of the assets remains separate.

Using the standard foliage tool, it’s just one actor, that’s it.

Oh sorry I think I’ll take another look. Every now and then I get some kind of error in my head because of Unreal . By the way, I do think it’s a nice program that you can do a lot with.

Hello! :grinning:

I grabbed the link and imitate it exactly, now I get no static mesh visible at generation. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, first initially I worked in a project architecture - blank but then I opened the exact same thing a firtst person project. I am working with Unreal 5.4, maybe this has to do with it?

Good evening,

I tested it and see that you can only paint on a landscape and not on a static mesh. Any ideas to paint different foliages on a static mesh.

Thanks!

PCG works on meshes

This is not what I mean. I want to be able to create multiple foliages myself in the foliage modes that I can paint trees and grass myself so that I can also turn these off when needed. That multiple groups (or whatever you call them) are created under the foliagesmodes.

Thanks!

You can’t do this in the standard foliage mode.

You need to write something for yourself. Either in PCG or blueprint
