More control over the WSAD movement in viewport

Hi,

I am used to the 3ds max navigation and I find it much better than Unreal. I know that at the beginning a new software is hard to get used to.

But Unreal Engine doesn’t seem to have a fast way of changing the SPEED of the WSAD navigation inside the VIEWPORT.

I wish it was like in 3ds max, where you have and ] to control the speed of steps.

I know that this is issue was resolved and answered in the forums by a few kind users. However, most of the ways are just walk-arounds and tricks and…they only work after pressing PLAY.

I want more.

I want to be able to control the movement inside the workable viewport BEFORE AND AFTER pressing PLAY.
and withoug having to go over to any menus and make additional clicks. A mouse scroll could be one of the ways to speed up the movement or just like in 3ds max where you could adjust the step size using and ] on your keyboard. It should be that simple but it isn’t.

That is my wish for the EPIC developers to introduce a way to have more control of WSAD.
It seems to be a small an easy thing to change but it would make the Engine so much more appealing to me.

  1. Second thing is that I would like to be able to turn collision on and off during the WSAD movement. It should also have a hot key.
Beginners like me often get lost in WSAD navigation because of collisions.

You can change your WSAD fly speed with the mouse wheel while flying. The only caveat in doing so is that it changes the multiplier of your current camera speed. It’s good for doing medium adjustments but if you need to drastically alter the speed you need to set the camera speed slider. That being said, I am pretty sure you can set shortcuts for that in the editor preferences.
