Modular Rig: Forearm twist

May I ask a Modular Rig question?

  1. How do I set up an automated forearm twist with Modular Rig so I can preserve the volume of the forearm? When I rotate the wrist controller can the forearm bones twist automatically? Is there a window where I can plug in the forearm twist bones?

Do this for me:
Hold your wrist tight with your left hand and attempt to supinate your hand.

Should give you an answer near immidiately.

Does Modular Rig have a way to setting up a forearm twist?

I doubt it.
But if it did, you’d probably have the dedicated control near the hand or near the elbow.

Would 100% need to be a dedicated control. If you do impossible things you get candywrapper effects like depicted.

Thank you MostHost_LA. Maybe someone has figured out how to hook up the forearm twist for Modular Rig.

  1. There is a working forearm twist in the UE5 Manny “Control Rig Sample Pack.” Maybe there is a way to incorporate it into Modular Control Rig?

  1. I do have a forearm twist bone as a child bone of the elbow bone.

I have been looking for a solution, but have not been able to find anything. 5.6 Preview just got released, and a quick glance did reveal a new control.

An automated solution is acceptable; however, for me, I would like to have an additional control as well so that I can refine the look. Rarely is a fully automated system perfect for all cases. It may get you 80-90% of the way there, but it would be ideal to have the ability to adjsut.

The parent constrain is a good option, but under the Modular Control Rig, there is not an option to regulate the amount of rotation that is passed to the child (twist) bone from the wrist.

If anyone reads this, and finds a solution - please post it for us.

Cheer!
