Modifying blueprint in blueprint editor doesn't change it in viewport

I have found that if I modify a blueprint in the blueprint editor, any instances of it inside of the viewport do not get automatically changed, regardless of compiling or not. I have to place the blueprint inside of the editor again.

Is this how it’s suppose to work or is there a way for me to refresh all instances of a blueprint?
