Hello, I am hoping to get some help from someone with the ability to give me advice on how to proceed with publishing an island. Recently my team member published her island and used this thumbnail that I made:
The submission passed just fine and she even made several bug updates and those passed approval as well. However, with her most recent bug fix submission, she was rejected due to “The Island’s promotional image”.
Is there a problem with it? It doesn’t break any of the rules, to my knowledge. There is no gunfire and the guns are not pointing at the screen or at any other players. Furthermore, having the thumbnail accepted several times and then rejected is extremely confusing and makes it seem like the rules are bendable or aren’t really set in stone or completely decided upon yet and agreed on by moderation teams.
My question for a moderator, or anyone who is able to offer advice (if there is a moderator active on this forum), is should I just re-submit or do I need to change something?
If there is not a moderator here who can help, can anyone point me towards where I can get official help in regards to issues like this one?
Thanks in advance,
Tele
Seems like an error on the rejection; I’m going to resubmit because I can’t find anything about the image that breaks any rules.
I also found thumbnails all over the discover page that have the things I thought might have flagged my thumbnail for rejection: the gun pointing at the zombie and the zombies walking towards the players. I’m going to re-submit and will keep this thread posted.

There may be a tiny border around the thumbnail that potentially breaks the rules - The “Screen Snip” I used to capture the finished thumbnail leaves a very tiny border.
I was able to find other thumbnails in discovery that have much more obvious and intentional borders, so I’m not sure why this 1 pixel red line might have flagged, but I went ahead and fixed that and re-submitted.

Hi Telephoros,
I have zero insight into the island moderation process, an ‘appeal’ system has been mentioned that could help if you end up getting rejected a second time.
I’m unsure if moderation will distinguish between thumbnail and lobby background image when they reference ‘promotional image’ - but I just wanted to link some extra rules for lobby background images.
