Modeling images from a 360 degree camera

Please add me too. I am sure you can build a much better solution then krpano, that for the moment does the job for me. I recently thought about a scanning setup with 2 thetas close together, and i would love it, to avoid this extra step in the very near future.

b-gis, your vote was also added.

I’d like omnidirectional camera support too.
Being forced to use a third part tool to assist with this, is ridiculous.

ClaskoTheKnight your vote was added

It has been 6 years since it was requested and nothing has been done, what a shame.

“Michal | CR - 6 years ago - Spherical images will be supported vry soon. Hopefully in next release.”

First reply in this thread hasn’t aged well haha.

How is this coming along? I’m baffled how this still isn’t supported after all these years, when it’s surely one of the most requested features. Metashape, Zephyr etc have supported spherical cameras forever.

Request from 2024, sorry I didn’t mean to dig up old posts on purpose, it’s just that Google brought me to this post. So how does realitycapture manage to turn a blind eye to feature requests? After all, it’s been eight years from 2016 until now.

Feature request: Add support for images such as 360 panoramic images, isometric images, cylinders, or whatever you want to call them!

As for why the request was made. Because you can use insta360 or go pro to extract frames in such a panoramic camera, and then input them into RC for alignment or calculation.

Dear staff, could you please inform me of the internal opinions on this feature and whether it will be scheduled for further development?

Hi @TeacherDu,
this is still in our feature request database. I added your post there.
I am sorry, but there is no other information regarding it, just that it is a planned to implement feature.

Good day,

Would like to add a vote to request for 360 camera support. In addition would like to know if this is still in a request stage or is there already development in progress for this feature. In other words would we even see this feature in the near future?

Thank you.
