Hi, I’m trying to make a pokemon based project that will involve evolution of many pokemon. I want it to look similar to the anime, which usesa bright glow with the pokemon seeming to morph, or change shape and features. However, I don’t know how to do this, as I’m new to UE4. Any suggestions?
Can you paste an example video of what you’re trying to achieve?
You can see how Tepig changes shape and physical features. The actual Pokemon games hides this behind a bright white flash, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to morph one model into another model (the texture will be changed to white and a glowing particle effect will play, of course) or through animation.
Oh, by the way, if it can be done thru animation, I use Blender.
Bump…
Last bump.
That would be a combination of morph targets, model swapping and particle effects.
You should start here:
Add particle effects and dynamic materials to make it less evident.
The model swapping is easy, just switch to another model when the sequence is complete.
