So, basically, I got a model and an animation file from the files of a game. Using Blender, I converted them from .wmb and .mot into .fbx. The animation is an idle.
I imported both of them into UE5 and when I open the animation file, it plays the animation in the manner I would expect, however, the model gets incredibly deformed as you can see.
Are my Blender export settings bad or maybe the bone hierarchy is not good?
I believe it’s the skeletal bones that dont match well when u retargetted them. Try editing both sk bones back in Blender so they match then re-retarget the animations. Hope some1 can explain it more in detail. Have a good 1!
I found the solution, basically I had to remove the animation from the model when I was importing in Unreal. For some reason the animation has to be baked it when exporting from Blender though. This is probably just a quirk or something of the native files of the game, but if anyone has similar issues, I hope they see this.
