Model a road

Hello

I modeled in 3ds max a road several kilometers long that I import into udk.

My question concerns the scale, I thought of doing a road 5 meter and multiply by 10 the ladder.

Am I a good idea?

Can you clarify what engine you’re using.

UDK or Unreal Engine 4?

I would use in my own game Unreal Spline tool. With that it is very easy to make road very quick

UE4 goes by centimeters (sometimes its labelled as Unreal Units, but 1 UU = 1 cm). If your road is 5 meters, and you want a completely accurate recreation, then make the road 500 centimeters.

The thing is, you shouldn’t expect this is work out perfectly. You’ll need to adjust the scale based on you’re system’s capabilities. Having an exact city replica is great, but it might be too taxing on your system.

Gotta agree with term. Make short sections of road and use the spline tools.

The question I ask myself is how to apply the material over the entire length of the road without deforming.

If you use the spline tool you should be able to use a separate material for each piece…I think…
