Mock up Animation / Translator/FX/ Blueprint

Hi,

Recently i played with the translator tool on the latest version of TW
Quite funny but it seems a bit limited and need more options.

Translator Limits :

  • When they are used in “once” mode their should be an option to let you decide if you want your animation to start from the linked object or to finished to your linked object. Here you have to set your distance with +/- and then manage from the x/y (coordinate) panel
  • Delay doesn’t work for “once” so i have to manage with different translator speed and distance. It would be great to add it and by the way have a previsualisation button in animation tab to see how it would be (I actually save my project so animation play once its saved… a bit tricky) of course it will play all the “once” at the same time depending if they have a delay or not
  • If you make a video animation but then you want to make an other one you will have to change the settings you set on the first one. Why can’t we set like 3 translator options (managable from the view set for exemple). It would be great for a project contextualisation. For exemple you build a house, step 1 context of the volumetric. Step 2 how you define inside space (so you don’t need to animation once again for exterior walls etc you pick view set 2 where you can manage animation / others parameters)

Section Cubes:

  • Translators are interesting when you add a section cube, to make object appear more suddenly. Why is it only possible to have 4 sections cubes?

FX:

  • Once you have set everything, you may want to try different style for your project, FX are filters and style that you can apply to your project
  • why can’t we assign imported object to a type of element?

exemple: i model different vehicles then i import them and add it to my global project. i would like to set all my project with the “clay render” but not my vehicles. The easy way would be to click in the FX panel/ Clay Render and unclick vehicles. Sadly we can’t do that and the only tricky way is to play w/ material.
I think this would be way much easier to create “Tags” so when you import object you can assign them (import tree / vegetation. Import Car/ Vehicle/ Character/ Landscape etc)

Blueprint:
Would it be possible to add in the library a blueprint tool?
It would work deffintely like UE5 blueprint and would be editable for tw library (furnitures/materials).

The perfect thing would be to assign imported object with tags "ceiling light/Kitchen/sofas etc). Then use Blueprint and set your different option for anything.

it is close to view set but this tool would let you to interact more with your client during project presentation

Thanks for reading, let me know what do you think about those suggestions

Thank you for your feedback, we will consider it in our development.

Concerning animation, it will evolve a lot in the upcoming release, implying the creation of tracks to manage visually the animated sequence, and create real ‘sequences’ (this is what is missing in the actual configuration, and why you have to use ‘hacks’ to synchronize your objects.)

Concerning the section cube, we had to put this limit because they have a large impact on performance, so it was a software design orientation.

Concerning the clay render/ options per type we already had this request from other users. it is not yet in the pipe, but will be something to consider.

A dedicated blueprint is a more complex question requiring more development time but under consideration for future evolutions.
