Missing templates choice when opening UE5 project browser

Hi

Since updating from UE5 to UE5.0.2, when I open the Project browser window, I have only “Blank project” and “Recent projects” !!! no more Games and others…
So I need “Third person” and there is no this template now !!!
Is someone know something about that?

Thank you
AC

Hey @m127w111! Welcome to the Forums!

So your saying your saying when you open unreal 5.0.2 you do not see the following:

So there’s a few things to try at this point.

  • First option is to completely close Unreal by opening the “Hidden Icons” tab on your taskbar and right clicking the Epic Games Icon to see if that corrects the issue.
    RpTO2rzelK

  • Your second option is to verify your UE5 installation by clicking the arrow next to the engine version on your launcher and clicking verify.
    EpicGamesLauncher_ptM3hp4k2L

  • Your third nuclear option would honestly be to uninstall and reinstall your UE5 version. I would try this only if the other two options don’t work out for you.

I hope one of the above solutions works for you!

Hi again

No nuclear solution needed. It was in the update options. (unchecked).
Now it’s ok.

Thank you for all

Same thing happened while I was updated my editor from ue5 from ue 5.0.3 hotfix.
In project creation panel all template were gone except there were two, recent, blank.

I noticed when epic was updating my UE and cleaning up the process. it somehow removed all the starter content and template pack from previous version. That’s why it wasn’t showing anymore in project creation panel.
Simply from epic launcher in your current engine’s
option panel redownload template and starter content will solve the problem. Before re adding those , It wasn’t there, that’s why project creation panel wasn’t showing those.

Some of us are new to Unreal Engine, so it might be helpful if you explain where this nuclear solution is located. Thanks

this worked, thanks!

nuclear solution is reinstall engine.

I just ran into this updating the 5.0.3. To find the “options” to include started content, and templates, instead of looking for these on the main page where it lets you launch a UE version, open your Library and select the arrow next to it to see these options.

My situation is really weird, I can see all the templates like third person game templates, but no matter which one I open, it turns out to be the empty one

1. Check Project Settings in Unreal Engine:

  • Open Unreal Engine directly.
  • Go to Edit > Editor Preferences.
  • In the left-hand panel, click on Loading & Saving.
  • Check the setting for “Load Default Level at Startup”. If it’s enabled, disable it. This will ensure you are prompted with project options when launching Unreal Engine next time.
