Hi,
so after a while I’ve been again trying to to do something in UE4 and I am again stunned by how many of the essential tools/workflows are missing.
Right now, I have a heightmap I need to import in as a landscape. In my original 3ds Max scene, this heightmap is used to displace a plane with displace depth of 400 meters. The problem in UE4 is that you can only import a landscape heightmap, that’s it. So I’ve imported a heightmap and of course it has completely wrong intensity, it’s a lot higher and steeper. And I’ve already spent 2 hours figuring out how to do something as essential as adjusting landscape heightmap intensity, so I can get my heightmap right.
The closest I’ve came to achieving my result was scaling the entire landscape in Z axis, but:
A, from the offline rendering, I’ve learned that non-uniformly scaling things can result in problems
B, from numerous sources around the internet, I’ve found that scaling landscape in UE4 is indeed a problem
Therefore, I would like to ask for help. I don’t believe UE4 doesn’t have any basic tools to modify (at least a multiplier of an) imported heightmap.
Thank you
