Missing Network Profiler executable

Hello, it looks like the NetworkProfiler is absent from latest release (checked on 5.6 & 5.8), but was still present in 5.4, and working with capture from 5.6. The documentation of 5.8 is still talking about it (here: Using the Network Profiler in Unreal Engine | Unreal Engine 5.8 Documentation | Epic Developer Community), so I suppose this is the executable that is somehow missing from latest version ?

your observation is right: the standalone NetworkProfiler executable stopped shipping with recent releases (present in 5.4, gone in 5.6/5.8) and the 5.8 documentation page was never updated, so it sends you hunting for a tool that no longer exists.

the replacement is Unreal Insights. the networking workflow there:

  • launch the editor or the packaged game with -trace=default,network (or start the trace from the Insights browser and enable the Networking channels).
    • open the capture in Trace Inspector. the Networking view gives you the replication breakdown the old profiler showed — per-actor class bandwidth, property traffic, RPC counts — and Network Insights adds the per-connection, per-frame view.
the old NetworkProfiler.csv dump flow is gone along with the exe, so there is nothing to download back into newer versions either. if you specifically need the legacy tool, 5.4 is the last version that ships it, but the Insights trace stack is the maintained path and handles live sessions far better.

worth filing a docs bug on that 5.8 page — pointing it at the Insights networking docs — since the stale reference traps everyone who upgrades.
