Missing edges and faces on imported objects

Hello, I’m trying to import pieces of a prop I’m shooting in UE 5.2. But when I try to import the pieces some have invisible faces/ backwards normals. I’ve tried checking the normals in Maya, as well as using the normals function under the modelling tool in UE. The normals all look fine in both Maya and Substance Painter, it’s only when I import it to UE that it has issues. Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks.

I’ve never seen UE flip the normals. (but have authored inwards facing normals in Blender a few times :wink: )

You can triple-check the normals in the static mesh viewer. (Show → Normals)

More of a hack than a solution. But try enabling ‘two sided’ in the material.
