When deleting the map that you have open in the viewport, rather than simply failing to delete with an error or switching you to a blank map, the engine freezes requiring a force quit via task manager

I was not able to reproduce this in UE4.12.5 following these steps:
- Open new blank project
- Create new “Test Level”
- Open “Test Level”
- Delete “Test Level”
- Choose “Force Delete” when warning appears
- Save
Result: Upon deleting “Test Level” all contents of level delete, leaving a black/blank viewport. Tab remains labeled “Test Level.” Upon saving, Tab reverts to “New Map” -No engine freeze.
Please provide your System Specs as well as updated repro steps if the one’s I have listed are not an accurate reproduction of the issue.

Those steps weren’t exactly what I did. These are the steps that caused the problem for me.
- Create a standard project with starter content enabled
- Delete the default level while still open
It then freezes at this point.
System Specs
- Intel I7 5930K 6 cores @ 3.5GHz
- 16GB RAM @ 3600MHz
- GeForce GTX 620
- Gigabyte z97-p MB
- SSD on 6Gb/s SATA
Thanks for the updated steps, however, I am still not able to reproduce the issue following these steps. In order to make sure we are testing on a comparable machine, please provide your OS: Windows 7, 8, or 10?
