Minimum requirements for UDK

I recently discovered the “unreal engine” world, also useful for Artists… thanks for developing it.

I would like to have some advice to improve my computer to use udk, this is my information:

  • PROCESSOR: Intel(R) Core™ i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 8 core, 8 logical processors
  • SYSTEM MODEL: MSI Z370 GAMING INFINITE X (MS-B916)
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Base card product: Z370M MORTAR (MS-7B54)
  • VIDEO CARD: Ge Force RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G
  • SYSTEM TYPE: X64
  • SO: Microsoft 11
  • Monitor: Samsung CF791 Series - LED monitor - curved - 34" - 3440 x 1440 Ultra WQHD @ 100 Hz - VA - 300 cd/m² - 3000:1 - 4 ms

will i have problems with udk?

any suggestions to improve my setup?

Hi JeiJei,

Just to be clear: “UDK” refers to the public version of Unreal Engine 3. You’d want to get Unreal Engine 5 through the launcher.

Your computer is more than adequate. If you have some extra RAM slots I’d consider upgrading to 32GB. (If you open the windows task manager, you can watch your RAM usage to determine how much of it you’re using)

I’ve also found that having UE installed on an SSD will speed things up.
