Minimum PC Specs :

Hello,

I am looking to get started with Unreal Engine - my current laptop isn’t up to scratch so I am looking into buying a new PC (desktop).

What would you say the minimum specs to smoothly run UE4 would be? I am more focused around the cinematography side of UE4 as opposed to actual game developing.

I understand that the most effective way would be to custom build a PC, however, I am not the most clued up with that side of things!

Budget wise I am looking around the £750 figure.

Do you think an i5 processor with 8GB RAM and decent graphics card would suffice for my needs? Or do you think I need to be looking at a minimum of i7 with 16GB RAM?

Feel free to post your current specs and how UE4 performs on your system / recommendations - any further information would be much appreciated!!

My apologies if this topic has been posted multiple times before! (I have looked but couldn’t find what I was looking for).

Thanks,
SPAWN.

Based off Local Increments, this seems like a balanced build for £711, although I’d suggest 16 GB of ram.

The GPU is going to be the most expensive part of your build so I would buy a decent one off Ebay. I bought an RTX 3080ti off Ebay for $350 and it works perfectly. You should never buy a cheap motherboard, CPU, GPU, and PSU. Anything else you could find a cheaper alternative. Im not a pro but this helped be buy a decent PC for really cheap. Also never buy anything else off Ebay, only the GPU and cooling system because anything else can be alternated to fry your PC. I hope this helps!
