Migration to Unreal Tournament?

Hey,

So, I want to create a few things for UT; and I have some things in the UE4 editor I’d like to bring over. However, when I migrate the assets over and open the editor, the asset’s in the content browser but it fails to load and I can’t place it into the environment. Anyway to fix this?

Thanks for the help in advance.

What exactly do you mean with “failed to load”?
Also make sure to use the right version -> e.g when you try to import assets from 4.7 into 4.6 it wont work (unfortunately I dont know which version UT uses right atm)

The version may be the reason, and it just says ‘Failed to Load Asset’ in the corner, and nothing pops up in the error log.

Thinking about it, I’ll check to see if I can find the version. That may actually be the cause. Thanks! I’ll come back to you after I’ve had a peek (cant access UT atm).

Just posting that version differences are in fact what is causing this issue. The UT editor is currently 4.7.0, so you will not be able to migrate anything greater than UE4 4.7.0.

I want to use some of the Infinity Blade statues in my CTF map.
Current UT engine version (Oct, 17, 2015) is 4.8.0
The only 4.8 I have in my Unreal library is 4.8.3
Using that version for an Infinity Blade project still won’t allow the assets to migrate.

As long as you just want to use the static meshes, you can just copy and paste the content folder into the UT project

last time I checked it was 4.8.0

Tip: You can see it in the splash screen when you fire up the UT editor…

However, I could successfully migrate an asset teh other way round. I managed to migrate the lift and door assets into 4.9.2…

Yep, it’s possible to upgrade, but for some assets it’s not possible to downgrade

Does anyone still have the assets/Project files from the repository that I can obtain? The repo on Epic’s github page fails when you run the setup.bat file
