Migrating a bp from one prj to another, crashes the editor of the project the bp has been migrated to

Migrating a blueprint from one project to another crashes the editor of the project the blueprint has been migrated to.

Reproduction :

  • Migrate a player-pawn bp from the 4.1 shooter c++ game into a base c++ 4.1 project.

  • Open the project the player-pawn bp has been migrated to.

  • Open the player-pawn blueprint.

  • The editor will freezes and never responds. I waited for almost 20 mins before I ended the task.

(This is my speculation but i think that it’s crashing because the player pawn is extended from a shooter character and the imported to project has no idea about the shooter-character class.)


Thank you for your report. We were not able to investigate this on the engine version you reported, but there have been many version changes to UE4 since this question was first posted. With a new version of the Engine comes new fixes and it is possible that this issue has changed or may no longer occur.
