Methods of projecting menus onto animated mesh. [3D book mesh, main menu, page flipping]

Hi there just wondering how some of you more experience folks would approach creating something like this.

My current’ish plan:

Make Book mesh, L / R page turn animation.
Animation just moves either the left or right page to the next / previous.
In Engine: Option selected event: fill info in new page based on (whatever)
then: set Page(x) Material as? / texture as?

Im kind of confused where to have the widget appear / be projected onto the page mesh with the clearest results
For a point of reference I want to make a cartooney bestiary!
