metahuman texturing broken in 5.6.1

assembling a new metahuman in 5.6.1 results in broken texturing. i think it’s possibly the uv’s but also it’s blotchy.

this worked perfectly fine in 5.6.

the metahuman is fine in the creator but broken in the output’d blueprint.

in 5.6 i did not have this problem. in 5.6.1 it seems to happen no matter what i do.

am i missing some change somewhere or is it a bug?

edit: the assembly output is cine and the texture source is the 4k option.

seems to be substrate?

my 5.6.1 project is using substrate materials.

if i create a new project without substrate the metahuman texturing is fine.

does anyone know how to resolve this in projects that are using substrate materials?

ok how I solved it:

  • disabled substrate
  • downloaded the 8k textures again inside the meta human creator
    (if you get the you are not logged in error, logout everywhere, then click Create Full Rig, then download 8k texture again)
  • assembled with the cine setting; not optimized-high
