Hello, everyone! I have run into something I can’t seem to solve. I have a project where all my Metahumans are coming in with their skin looking like what is shown in the picture below. The material thumbnails all look fine until I try to open any of them, and then they go checkerboard, as can be seen in the Element 0 slot. It’s only in this specific project. I’m using 5.2.1 and have double-checked my Metahuman Creator version. I have also confirmed that this is not happening in other projects.
Anyone else encountered this? Did you find a fox for it?
Hey there @Ben_Blau! It definitely looks like either a material or shader failure. If you open it’s material itself, are there any listed errors?
Since the material itself is functional in other projects, worst case scenario we may be able to migrate the asset from a functional project and change the material on MH here.
Modified the Metahuman I was using a little, renamed and resynced it, and then updated it before downloading it and adding it to the project. So far, it’s working. No idea what went wrong before.
Awesome! It’s possible the asset file itself got corrupted when it got imported, but it’s good to know that editing and redownloading can solve it for future cases, that’s definitely a rare one!
