Hello there! First time posting here.
I’m using Metahuman in 5.6 for my main character and planning to use it for NPC aswell later. I’m pretty new to optimizing and there seems to be little to none info about optimizing metahumans well or the information is just “use cards for hair” or “assemble optimized metahumans in 5.6”.
For a testing purposes, I assembled 1 metahuman, (UE Optimized, medium, 2k tex), with pants, shoes and jacket (about 2k polygons each). I used body hidden face map masking legs and most of the hands away and ran it without ABP blueprint attached in Basic empty level template and got texture streaming pool over budget ~400mib.
Listing textures, there seems to be still bunch of 8k textures loaded into memory like T_Body_N, T_Body_SRMF etc. I went to every groom element and deleted 0-6 lods, replaced every texture element with blank one and hid the face but somehow it still loads bunch of face releated stuff to memory, even deleting the face completely doesnt do it?
Any optimization tips? Is it even good practice to remove the head entirely since metahuman seems to be quite complicated bp?
Thanks in advance!
