Is it possible to export a metahuman created character such that the modeler can add our armor within Blender?
If so, is this legal since it would be momentarily be rendered in Blender.
Background, we should convert to using Metahuman characters. The modeler is concerned that separately created clothing and armor will fit poorly (as is frequently seen in hats in even the best titles). I’m trying to determine if it is possible to allow him to tailor the items to the model.
(as always I apologize for having to post the question with tag 4-27, it is not related to 4-27, just UE5)
I dont know about the commercial aspects, but workflow is no problem to add custom clothes. Not sure what they are concerned about.
You can hold on to the default clothes and use them to copy/paste skin weights from to get a head start on that.
If you are concerned about clipping skin through the clothing you can add an opacity mask to the material or can duplicate the body, delete geo, then rebind the skin.
