I’m following the Metahuman from Mesh workflow from the Epic Games documents and various tutorials. I’m in UE 5.5.4, but I can’t get the Metahuman Identity Kit to show up.
• Metahuman Plugin & SDK are enabled.
• Using Third-Person Template (as recommended).
• Checked Window > Miscellaneous, but no Identity option.
• Using UE 5.5.4 as suggested for Metahuman tools.
I also tried 5.1.1 and can’t see it there. I see metahuman animation tab in 5.5.4 with data capture options for mesh and footage but no identity kit options like mentioned in the article and every video.
Since I can’t access Identity, I’m stuck on integrating my Polycam face scan. Any fixes? Thanks so much! Context: I am creating a custom character from a polycam face scan, tuned up in blender, and imported into unreal. I just started working in 3D softwares recently and any other thoughts or advice are appreciated. I am primarily a music artist working on creating a digital world for my music and characters.
I don’t know. I just followed that guide step by step and didn’t run into any issues. I don’t remember an Identity kit. Where did they say you should get the Identity Kit? Do you have Show Engine content turned on in your content browser?
I’m having the same problem. The videos I watched instruct to Add to Content, Select MetaHuman Animator, select MetaHuman Identity. Unfortunately there is no longer a MetaHuman Animator option to select from.
Go to the Fab store and add the Metahuman Plugin. Then, in the Epic Games Launcher click the reload button for your Fab Library. The Metahuman Plugin should appear. Click ‘Install to Engine’ on the Metahuman plugin. Launch your Unreal Engine Editor again, then go to Edit: Plugins and check the box by your Metahuman Unreal Engine Toolkit to enable. Click Restart Now. Open your scene. Right click in the content browser, and you should have your Metahuman Animator option there.
