MetaHuman face control rig board positioning request

I have a request to show the MetaHuman Face Control Rig Board in a separate 2D window with black background.

When I use MetaHuman Face Rig Boards I always have following problems.

• Simply hard to pick control because the 2D face control rig board is floating in 3D space.

• Hard to pick control because the position is linked to MetaHuman’s root position. This is especially a problem when I use root motion animation and MetaHuman’s position is far from it’s root.

• Hard to pick control because the direction of the board is linked to MetaHuman’s face. This is especially a problem when MetaHuman is facing ground or sky when camera is around the same height as MetaHuman’s face.

• Hard to pick control because the board is transparent and the controls are in yellow. When MetaHuman’s background is bright color like white or yellow, it is hard to see the controls on the board.

These are all about picking control on the board. In reality, picking control on the board is taking longer time than animating MetaHuman’s face. If the board is shown in another window and doesn’t move, it will be dramatically easier to animate MetaHuman’s face using the board.

We just ended up building our own using an editor utility widget and buttons. Unfortunately the “image” for the face board is a 3d model so we had to do tricks to get it as a svg then into a png for the editor. The other problem you need to be aware of is making sure which control rig binding you’re linking to in the sequencer.

unfortunatelly I’m not as savvy as you are yet. I have no idea how to build an editor in UE. if you could point me to a yt video or something that would be really helpful as I’m facing the same challenge. Idk why creators went so far to create metahuman but we still have these basic ux ui issues…
