metahuman eyes roll upwards when rotating head too much (bug or intended behaviour?)

I am not sure if this is a bug or if this is intended behaviour, but when using the eye target in metahuman control rig, if you rotate the head a lot (more than aobut 90 degrees on the up axis), then the eyes roll upwards:

When I test with my own eyes in real life, I can keep my eyes looking to the right and not roll upwards if I rotate my head 90 degrees on the up axis. So it seems like the way the rig’s eye target works, isn’t realistic?

I’m having the same issue, but only in Unreal with Control Rig.
It works fine when assembled in Maya with the MetaHuman face control panel.
