Hello there. I have tried to create a map using UE4 landscape tool. So I made mountain and I put my character on top. I applied a material to the map and it looked all good. Now after building the lighting I noticed one square area had the material missing. It was just a black spot there. But my map is one piece. I pressed play and had a walk around the map on my character. Now the black square was still there but I could stand on it and all.
Now when I loaded the game on my phone, I had this- my character fell down the black square, and everywhere else I could run inside the mountain or I was halfway in the ground. The only spot that was normal is where the ground was flat and untouched by landscape tool.
So why is collision ok on pc but messed up on android? And where did the black spot come from and how to fix it?
You can easily get rid of the black spot when you paint over it with a really big brush -> just try it out from different sides/positions When it still not works re-apply your material to the landscape.
Regarding to the collision issue: create another one in a new map and try it out again -> then we will know if it is probably because of some settings in that special level
Hi. I have deleted the whole thing and I will try again. This is second time I get asked to post a screenshot, but I dont know how to do that.
Another thing is that I cant load a new level on android device. I have a trigger volume that opens new level on overlap event. It works fine on PC but when I load the game on my phone, the trigger just restarts the current level. My phone is Samsung Galaxy s4. I tried to look for an answer but all threads die before anyone gives an answer. Some ppl even suggest quitting android game development for atleast a year. Would anyone be able to help?
