Mesh stretching from bone rotation

Im still pretty green to game dev and the unreal engine. Im trying to set up a control rig on an asset from the POLYGON model pack except Im having issues with the mesh stretching every time I try to rotate a limb. I was following a tutorial for setting up a rig and the instructor never had any stretching issues. I repeated the the steps carefully so Im not sure if this is an issue with the mesh model, the skeleton or bone layout or what… I was told to maybe try changing the Skeleton Translation Retargeting to “Skeleton” instead of “Animation” but that didn’t change anything as far as I can tell. Just looking for any tips in the simplest instructions possible. Treat me like an idiot because I feel like one right now trying to sort this out.
