Mesh Smoothing for 3DS Import

Hi again,

Apologies for all the questions lately!

I can’t seem to find a good answer here about mesh smoothing for import into 3DS max. Importing the FBX file into max results in a very blocky model without the smoothing I see in RC. What is the best workflow for getting a smooth model with Max? There dont appear to be smoothing groups associated with the model on import…
Is it best to apply fairly heavy smoothing in RC and then re-texture and export rather than trying to do the smoothing in Max?

using smooth modifier in 3dsmax will be fine.

but stay away from mesh smooth or turbo smooth. they need clean quad’s to work well.

if you need to smooth the mesh out more than just smoothing groups. i would do that in rc.
