Mesh procedural generation

I was just looking at the documentation etc for the new unreal engine. I’m interested in procedural mesh generation. Is it possible in unreal 4 to generate the mesh through the C++ API in Editor or/and during the gameplay? It looks like using plugins one could achieve it in editor but haven’t look into it yet. Also what about saving/serializing the generated mesh as asset? I’ll be grateful for any opinions.

I am curious about this as well. Has anyone run across any documentation that explains how one would approach this? I am looking for run-time procedural mesh generation if possible.
