When i start the game, my skeletal mesh spawns in the ground and doesn’t move, everything is parented is the capsule component as normal. If i copy the mesh and paste it back in it works fine.
normally when you drag from the asset browser into the scene it auto puts your character on the ground.
How are you spawning the character? is it a player start? or dragged in? or a spawn node?
I am spawning the player using a player start. The player start is above ground.
can you post a screen shot of the viewport in your character blueprint please
try moving your camera back away behind the character, if that fixes it then you need to turn off collisions with your camera
Just gave that a shot, didn’t work unfortunately.
i see your not using a skeletal mesh? If so have you checked the mesh (double click in asset browser) and ensure its collisions arent a basic sphere or capsule thats doesnt completely cover the whole mesh
ok my bad, for some reason i always thought it came up by default as skeletal mesh not mesh
have you opened up the skeletal mesh make sure it all looks good? clutching at straws i know, these things can be so random
Yeah, no settings have been changed. It works if i copy and paste it, but i want it to work without doing that
try dragging a few in from the editor and see if they all do it, also try spawning one from blueprint make them maybe 200 above the floor
Good news! I fixed it by restarting the editor! Thanks for the help anyhow!
HAHA another annoying intermitant bug. pleas mark your post as solution it may help others.
Im getting annoying “Print String” not working unless i reboot editor sux!
That must suck! Sometimes the material editor doesn’t show the colours of materials, no idea why, or even how to fix it haha
