Mesh always faces ONE way

no matter how i rotate my character mesh in the viewport, upon pressing play it ALWAYS faces right. I’m 100% sure it isnt being overwritten in a tick update or anything like that and i have no idea why its happening.

yeah its empty. its pretty much a new project so i dont see why it would act like this
