Mesh alignment problem with undistorted photo plates in 3dsmax

Hi,

     I am having some real issues with this still in 3dsmax. I import the fbx into max, then when I load the appropriate undistorted plate into the viewoort background and look through the corresponding camera, they are slightly offset. Seems to be ok in maya though? I have seen posts with similar problems that end with… “can you contact me on email” and then no result/solution is posted.

If I follow the same process and open the fbx export in Maya, it all lines up fine?

I also tried exporting the working file from maya to 3dsmax via fbx and that had the same offset problem.

So it seems to be something to do with 3dsmax bringing in fbx cameras…

 

Hi, what export settings in RC do you use? 

If importing fbx in to Maya works correctly, then the issue is in the import settings or overall settings in 3dsmax.
