I have been downloading megascan assets since they became free and have had to split my downloads among multiple drives on my PC due to space constraints. I have since purchased a 20 TB external HDD. I Moved the original folder location to the new drive and all downloaded assets show up as downloaded and ready for export as expected. So, I went to add the assets I had stored in the second location, but they do not show up as downloaded. They are there and accessible on the drive, but not showing as downloaded in Bridge. How can get Bridge to recognize the merged assets and show them as downloaded as well?
Hey @QCvgC1517, unfortunately I don’t have an answer, but rather a couple of questions. How much space did everything occupy (and how many files did you download)? I’m analyzing to buy an HDD also so this would be too useful. Also were the assets at max quality?
I had similar issues in Twinmotion when I tried to download HDRI’s and materials from MS through Twinmotion. All of the assets were downloaded to a portable ssd and I could see them but in TM Istill had to download them directly from MS. The ones on the portable ssd would not load into my project and in fact until I deleted them from the portable ssd nothing was able to be downloaded. Must be some type of security code or something. I checked all of the paths to save in import from the ssd but nothing worked.
I ended up dropping $300 on a 20TB external HDD and am storing things there. Thankfully, where I work has a huge amount of bandwidth and I have been downloading like there is no tomorrow.
