Megascans Trees: Norway Maple and Pivot Painter Trees Issue

Hello

I’ve noticed that the Pivot Painter Norway Maple trees are not displaying correctly in 5.2. System is MacOs.

Leaves are partially cut off and elements of the branches are completely missing, plus elements of the trunk are missing.

From what I can tell all the Megascan Tree packs, not just Norway Maple, experience the same issue, however it’s easier to notice on the Maple trees given their distinct shape. The issue seems isolated to the Pivot Painter trees, as the Simple Wind trees do not have the same issue.

Issue affects all Pivot Painter tree sizes however, is more noticeable on the larger trees.

Issue is not related to LODs as LOD 0 was used.

The same issues occur on the Megascans zoo map, so the issue is not related to how they’ve been placed in a particular level.

Please does anyone know why this issue is occurring or could Quixel/Epic respond to when this may be fixed?

I don’t know if I have the answer, but. It looks like it is using the fallback mesh.
If not the fallback mesh, then it is only displaying the lowest LOD.

The images were taken with the highest LOD available, but thanks for the comment.

I get this result in my own testing if I am in DX11 as the default RHI with Nanite enabled on this mesh. So it is probably the fallback mesh if Nanite is enabled while the editor is running in DX11.

Hey there, thank you for reporting this! We are currently investigating this and have a workaround for you in the meantime. Please try turning off Nanite and this should resolve the issue. We appreciate your patience as this is looked into!

Thank you @AMintKing, that workaround works.

You’re very welcome, @Robyn!
